DeMatha senior Earl Timberlake announced on Monday his commitment to Miami, making him the Hurricanes highest rated recruit since Lonnie Walker in 2017.
Timberlake, a four-star recruit, picked Miami over Providence, Seton Hall, South Carolina and Pittsburgh. Timberlake also fielded offers from North Carolina, Alabama, Georgetown and others.
Timberlake is one of the top players in the area, as he is ranked the 35th best player in the country by ESPN. Timberlake was a dominant force during the Nike EYBL, averaging 18.3 points and 9.6 rebounds in 18 games for Team Durant.
Timberlake will join combo forward Matt Cross in Miami’s 2020 recruiting class.
