The No. 5 rated athlete in the 2016 class Trevon Diggs has finally announced where he will go to college next year as he committed to Alabama on Saturday.
Diggs, the brother of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and University of Maryland standout Stefon Diggs is a four star wide receiver according to 247sports.com. Trevon is a top tier prospect that can play defensive back or wide receiver at a high level.
The senior out of The Avalon School in Gaithersburg, Maryland was supposed to announce his college decision on July 4, 2015. He decided to postpone his announcement a few days before the July 4th commitment date.
Trevon Diggs was scouted by some of the top college football programs in the country. Diggs had offers from LSU, Penn State, Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Alabama, West Virginia, and many others. So he had a lot of options to choose from.
For the University of Maryland, Trevon’s commitment to Alabama comes at a shocker. In the 247sports.com Crystall Ball, there was a 90 percent chance of him going to Maryland. Also Diggs was close friends with four-star quarterback and Terps commit Dwayne Haskins. Alabama lands a great prospect but the Terps lucked out on a key player to the DMV to UMD Movement.
