April 5, 2016

DeMatha 4, Gonzaga 3- Sophomore Moises Aristy drove in the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh innning to carry the Stags to victory. Senior Jarret Faunce belted two doubles.

Bishop O’Connell 3, St. Mary’s Ryken 0- Will Liverpool got the Knights going with a RBI single that gave his team a 1-0 lead. Liverpool also hit a triple in the fourth inning.

St. John’s 11, Paul VI 5- The Cadets took a 7-2 lead after three innings of play. Paul VI had a the bases loaded in the top of the sixth but St. John’s pitcher Peccilunas struck out two batters to get out of the jam. In the bottom half of the sixth, Cam Remilia laced a RBI triple.

Good Counsel 3, Bishop Ireton 0

April 6, 2016

DeMatha 2, St. John’s 1- Pitcher Will Glick took the loss in the matchup against the Cadets. Glick threw for four innings, had five strikeouts, four walks, and allowed two runs. DeMatha senior Bryan Lirano pitched 2 1/3 hitless innings while allowing no runs and striking out two batters.

Bishop O’Connell 6, Bishop McNamara 5- The Knights tallied four runs in the third inning that proved to be the game changer in their win over the Mustangs. Catcher Aidan Koferi record three hits and two RBI’s. McNamara did out hit O’Connell 11-7.

April 7, 2016

Good Counsel 2, Gonzaga 1- Falcons senior pitcher Zack Papillo gave up no hits, one walk, and four strikeouts through seven innings. Junior outfielder Charlie Kozorosky laced two hits.

April 8, 2016

Bishop O’Connell 3, Paul VI 2- O’Connell’s Aidan Koferi squeeze bunt drove in the game winning run in the eighth inning. Paul VI Kevin Kelly had seven strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Jack Cunningham had three of the Panthers nine hits.

St. John’s 3, Gonzaga 0- Both teams only tallied three hits throughout the game. It wasn’t until the top of the fifth inning when St. John’s put three runs on the board. Cadets pitcher Cam Remalia struck out five Gonzaga batters in five innings.
