Gonzaga wing Myles Dread commits to Penn State after playing in Peach Jam on Sunday.

“It just felt like they presented the whole package with the academics and basketball,” Dread told Patt Lawless of MADEHoops.com. “I also want to study business and they showed me that it is a great school for that major. I have a good relationship with Coach Chambers and I’m definitely excited to play there.”

Dread chose the Nittany Lions over George Mason, Towson, James Madison and Manhattan. For a 2018 prospect, his commitment is coming quite early. However, Dread feels like Penn State is the best place for him.

“I felt like it was the perfect fit for me, I visited a couple of other schools then I saw Penn State and fell in love with it,” he said. “I visited the Business School and talked to their academic advisors. They all made me feel comfortable and I can see myself in that situation.”

Dread averaged 9.5 points per game, and was second on Gonzaga in three pointers made with 39 last season.  He scored eight points per game for Team Takeover at Peach Jam.
