
Georgetown Prep (3-0) continued its hot start to the season with a 48-0 win over Fork Union on Friday.
The Hoyas set the tone for the entire game in the first quarter when they outscored Fork Union 27-0. Senior running back Owen Wright put Prep on the board with a five-yard touchdown. Quarterback Jim Molloy followed with a 60-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Francis.
Later in the quarter, Wright ran nine yards for his second rushing touchdown of the game. Senior T.J. Dozier then ran six yards for a touchdown.
Georgetown continued its momentum in the second quarter as Molloy connected with Wright for a three-yard touchdown pass to put the Hoyas up 34-0. Francis increased the Hoyas lead when he scored on a 46-yard touchdown.
Dres Black ran 11 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. It was the only points Georgetown scored in the second half.
Molloy finished with 112 passing yards, and two touchdowns. Francis recorded 60 receiving yards and 46 yards on the ground.
The Hoyas next game will be against Gonzaga on Sept. 17. The Purple Eagles are currently sit at No. 10 in the All-Met Football rankings, while Prep sits at No. 20.
