2017 DeMatha center Josh Carlton verbally committed to the University of Connecticut on Wednesday.
“I just really liked the coaching staff, especially Coach [Kevin] Ollie,” Carlton told Scout. “The fact that it is a championship program really made me want to pick them and be a part of the program.”
The 6-foot-9 senior picked the Huskies over Georgetown, Memphis, Clemson and Xavier. He was going to take visits to Xavier and Clemson, but decided to cancel them. Carlton will become the second player in Connecticut’s 2017 recruiting class.
With the help of Josh and other players like Ryan Allen, D.J. Harvey and Justin Moore, DeMatha will be a tough team in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.
