Eleanor Roosevelt three-star defensive end Lawtez Rogers committed to Maryland on Thursday.
His commitment came days after five-star Joshua Kaindoh decommitted from Maryland.
Rogers is the 26th best player in Maryland and the 76th strong side defensive end in the nation, according to 247sports. He held offers from Wake Forest and Pittsburg State. Rogers is the 21st commitment in the Terps 2017 recruiting class.
Here is what Scout’s Brian Dohn had to say about the future Terp:
“Rogers is still refining his technique, but his ability is unmistakable. He gets off the line quickly and closes on the ball carrier well in the final few steps. When rushing around the edge, he dips his shoulder and understands leverage. In the running game, he uses power to get up the field and get off the block. Once he works on his hands more and stays a bit lower initially off the snap, he will be more dominant.”
