A history of Maryland’s bowl appearances: 1948-2016

I had some free time on my hands, so I decided to create a timeline, which lays out the Maryland football’s bowl history since 1948. The Terps have posted a bowl recorded of 11-14-2 since 1948. The Terps have played against teams like Georgia, Stanford, West Virginia, Tennessee, Texas and Oklahoma.

Last season, Maryland made it to the Quick Lane Bowl under first year head coach D.J. Durkin. The Terps lost to Boston College, but the bowl appearance marked the start of a new beginning in College Park.

Former Maryland head coaches Ralph Friedgen and Jerry Claiborne each took the Terps to seven bowl games, which is a tie for first place in school history.
