Gonzaga beat Good Counsel to advance to WCAC title game

Gonzaga advanced to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title game after defeating Good Counsel 24-17 on Friday night. Gonzaga’s freshman quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 135 yards and a touchdown. Running back Lucas Warfield ran for 89 yards on 14 carries.

DeMatha’s run at a fifth straight championship comes to an end

St. John’s beat DeMatha 17-14 on Saturday afternoon to earn a spot in the conference title game and end the Stags’ run at a fifth straight championship. St. John’s quarterback and Michigan commit Kevin Doyle had a big day, throwing for 226 yards and a touchdown.

Elisha McDonald runs all over C.H. Flowers in Maryland 4A South semifinal

Eleanor Roosevelt steamrolled over C.H. Flowers 34-7 with the help of running back Elisha McDonald, who ran for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns on Friday evening. Roosevelt will take on Wise next week in the Maryland 4A South championship. Wise defeated Suitland 33-0 in its semifinal game.

Quince Orchard dominated in 62-0 victory over Einstein

Quince Orchard used a 55-point first half to knock off Einstein 62-0 in the first round of the Maryland 4A West playoffs. Quarterback Doc Bonner went 4-6 with 124 yards and a touchdown. Quince Orchard has now won 13 straight first round games.

Westfield keeps perfect season alive

Westfield, who is 10-0 this season, defeated Battlefield 28-14 in the Virginia 6A playoffs. Quarterback Noah Kim threw for 101 yards, a touchdown and interception. Westfield’s Gavin Kiley tallied 79 receiving yards and a touchdown on three receptions.
