St. Frances Academy (Md.) defensive end Eyabi Anoma committed to Alabama during the early National Signing Day period on Wednesday. Anoma was the Crimson Tide’s first five-star recruit in the 2018 class.
Anoma picked Alabama over Maryland, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and others. The Under Armour All-American is ranked the second best defensive end and the No. 7 overall player in the nation. ESPN has Anoma as the fourth best player in the country.
When it came down to signing day, Anoma was considering Alabama, Michigan and Maryland. Anoma made his decision on ESPN2.
Anoma expressed how Alabama head coach Nick Saban heavily influenced him to become a Crimson Tide.
“He just produce top notch players at a high level,” Anoma said on ESPN2. “I want to go there and compete against the top players in the country and get top notch competition.”
