
Paul VI dropped its first game of the 2017 Chick-fil-A Classic to Findlay Prep on Thursday.
Findlay Prep, who is ranked fourth in the country by USA Today, shot over 60 percent from the floor to defeat the Panthers 84-61.
Senior five-star center Bol Bol tallied 24 points and nine rebounds in 15 minutes of play. Bol will be heading to Oregon next season.
Pilots’ guard Kyler Edwards registered 15 points, six assists and three steals. Forward Reggie Chaney scored 14 points and shot 7-8 from the floor.
Paul VI kept it close early with the help of senior Brandon Slater, who scored 10 points in the first 10 minutes of the game. Slater would end up with 27 points and four three-pointers.
Sophomore guard Jeremy Roach chipped in 11 points and four rebounds, while Anthony Harris scored 10 points.
The Panthers shot 37 percent from the floor and went 5-28 from behind the arc. Findlay Prep outscored Paul VI 62-34 in the paint.
