St. John’s cornerback DJ Brown signed with Notre Dame
St. John’s three-star senior DJ Brown kicked off signing day by committing to Notre Dame via Twitter. The Under Armour All-American previously committed to Virginia, but decided to reopen recruitment in January. Brown narrowed his list down to Notre Dame, Northwestern and California after receiving offers from Clemson, South Carolina and Louisville.
Brown is ranked the No. 49 cornerback in the nation and the fourth best player in Washington, D.C.
Maryland landed 4-star cornerback Ken Montgomery Jr.
Maryland bolstered its secondary by adding four-star cornerback Ken Montgomery Jr. to the 2018 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 26 by Rivals and 247sports.
Montgomery, who is a senior at Hillsborough High School (Fla.), is ranked in the ESPN300 and he is the No. 33 cornerback in the nation, according to 247sports. Montgomery picked the Terps over Nebraska, Louisville and UCLA.
The Terps’ recruiting class now features five four-star prospects and three members of the ESPN300.
3-star OL Joshua Jefferson signed with Massachusetts
St. John’s three-star offensive lineman Joshua Jefferson signed with UMass over Syracuse, Buffalo, UConn and Marshall. Jefferson, who was played in the Under Armour All-American Game, is ranked the third best offensive lineman in D.C. by 247sports.
Former Terps commit Noah Boykin signed with Notre Dame
H.D. Woodson four-star defensive back Noah Boykin, who decommitted from Maryland in January, signed with Notre Dame. Boykin was choosing between the Fighting Irish, Florida and Virginia. Boykin is ranked the second best player in D.C. and the No. 34 defensive back in the nation. Boykin was a All-Met honorable mention selection this season.
Mychale Salahuddin to Pittsburgh
H.D. Woodson running back Mychale Salahuddin, who is regarded as the top prospect in D.C., signed with Pittsburgh. Salahuddin picked Pittsburgh over Syracuse. The four-star running back originally committed to USC, but reopened recruitment in December.
Salahuddin ran for 1274 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 116 carries during the 2017 season.
Virginia Tech added St. John’s DT Cam Goode to 2018 recruiting class
St. John’s defensive tacke Cam Goode, an Under Armour All-American, officially signed with Virginia Tech. Goode is ranked the fifth best player in D.C. by 247sports. He tallied 14 sacks and 29 tackles for loss this season.
