Maryland made it clear before Saturday’s season opener against Texas that the team plans to honor redshirt freshman Jordan McNair, who passed away in June, throughout the season.
On the first play of the game, Maryland marched out on the field with 10 players and left the right guard position open. The Terps were charged with a delay of game penalty, but Texas declined it to honor the tribute.
Maryland would go on to score the game’s first touchdown during this drive.
