ITLR high school football scores from Week 3

Get yourself ready for week three of high school football in the DMV.

Last week featured many teams around the area had to deal with bad weather, which caused some games to be delayed or canceled. Hopefully this week is different as teams continue to make progress, while other teams are beginning their football season.

St. John’s had another 40-point performance last weekend, knocking off Hoover (Ala.) 42-14. The Cadets will have a big test ahead of them as they face Miami Central on Saturday afternoon. The game will be live streamed on Monumental Sports Network.

Quince Orchard scored 27 points in the first quarter (50 points in the first half) to beat Bethesda Chevy-Case 50-0. Quince Orchard, who is ranked seventh in the Washington Post’s Top 20 rankings, will play Blair High School on Friday evening.

Wise will face Baltimore football powerhouse Calvert Hall on Friday evening, while Flint Hill will open its season up against Paul VI.

Sept. 7

Wise vs. Calvert Hall: Wise fell to Calvert Hall 19-14 on Saturday, ending its 43-game win streak. The streak was tied with Damascus for the second longest active win streak in the country.

Damascus vs. Sherwood: Damascus improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Sherwood on Friday evening. The Swarmin’ Hornets have won 44 streak games and they are seven wins away from breaking Maryland’s longest all-time win streak, which is 50.

Good Counsel vs. Mount Saint Joseph: The game was pushed back to Sunday due to weather.

Quince Orchard vs. Blair: Quince Orchard tallied 17 points in the fourth quarter to beat Blair 45-6 on Saturday. Quince Orchard’s running back Marquez Cooper ran for 172 yards and a two touchdowns.

DeMatha vs. Franklin: The Stags beat Franklin 27-14 on Friday evening. DeMatha is now 2-1 this season.

Woodbridge vs. Osbourn Park: Woodbridge was shutout in the 35-0 loss to Osbourn Park.

Stone Bridge vs. Lake Braddock: Stone Bridge ran up the scoreboard in its 70-3 victory over Lake Braddock.

Tuscarora vs. T.C. Williams: Tuscarora earned its first win of the season, beating T.C. Williams 30-7 on Saturday.

Northwest vs. Walter Johnson: Northwest beat Walter Johnson 37-7 on Saturday.

Broad Run vs. Woodgrove: Broad Run knocked off Woodgrove 33-7.

Centreville vs. South County: Centreville used a strong first half performance to beat South County 26-14.

Howard vs. Glenelg: Howard fell to Glenelg 42-14 on Saturday.

C.H. Flowers vs. Bel Air:  Flowers defeated Bel Air 20-13 on Friday evening.

Eleanor Roosevelt vs. Carver Vo-Tech: Eleanor Roosevelt defeated Carver Vo-Tech 41-0 defeat only scoring eight points in the first half. The Raiders came out of halftime strong, scoring 26 points.

Landon vs. St. Mary’s-Annapolis: Landon defeated St. Mary’s Annapolis 40-3. Landon’s Zayd Delane ran for 114 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Paint Branch vs. Richard Montgomery: Paint Branch used a 28-point first half to beat Richard Montgomery 35-0 on Saturday.

Sept. 8

St. John’s vs. Miami Central (Fla.): The Cadets remain undefeated after beating Miami Central 37-34 in five overtimes. St. John’s wide receiver Rakim Jarrett caught the game-winning touchdown.

Gonzaga vs. Don Bosco (N.J.): Gonzaga beat Don Bosco 37-7 on Saturday. The Purple Eagles currently sit with a 3-0 record.

Flint Hill vs. Paul VI: Flint Hill kicked off its season with a 45-14 win over Paul VI. Maryland commit Jordan Houston ran for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Flint Hill quarterback Miles Thompson threw for 130 and four touchdowns.

Friendship Collegiate vs. Wilson: Friendship Collegiate beat Wilson 14-6.

Bullis vs. Fork Union: Bullis defeated Fork Union 42-6. It’s the second straight game where Bullis posted more than 40 points. Bullis will take on Quince Orchard in its next game.
