Maryland freshman running back Anthony McFarland was named Big Ten Co-Freshmen of the Week after his strong performance in the Terps’ 42-13 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
McFarland rushed for 112 yards, a pair of touchdowns and averaged 18.7 yards per carry on six attempts. McFarland ran for a 64-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. McFarland is now the second freshmen in Maryland history to rush for 100 or more yards in back-to-back games.

Senior linebacker Tre Watson received Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors. Watson led the Terps with 11 tackles and a sack. Watson also returned an interception for a 36-yard touchdown during the opening minutes of the third quarter.

Maryland native and Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Haskins threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns in the first half of the Buckeyes’ win over Tulane.
