Riverdale Baptist guard Kaylah Ivey, who is one of the premier players in Prince Georges County, is high on the college radar, as she being recruited by schools like Georgetown, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh.

Crusaders’ Head Coach Mike Bozeman calls Ivey the best passer in the country. Bozeman admires how Ivey sees the floor better than any other girls guard he’s ever seen.

“I’ve been around for a while so that’s comparing with all the guards since I’ve been coaching,” Bozeman said. “She’s just so talented.”

Ivey believes her strongest ability is setting her teammates up. Ivey wants to be more aggressive in terms of scoring the ball.

Ivey and Riverdale Baptist are off to a 2-0 start. The Crusaders beat Markham High School in Ontario, Canada.

“Our team is very unique in terms of what we all bring to the table,” Ivey said. “It’s very different from last year and in order for us to be able to compete with any team, we all have to do what we have to bring us together collectively.”

Ivey anxious to play against Rock Creek, and National Christian because she enjoys the competition level.

“I love these games because of all the hype that will be surrounding it because of the inner rivals,” Ivey said. “Both of the teams have players willing to compete at the highest level.”
