Oklahoma added to its strong 2021 recruiting class on Monday afternoon when senior wide receiver Jalil Farooq verbally committed to the Sooners.
Farooq is one of the top wideouts in his class, ranking sixth best at his position and the No. 22 overall player in Maryland by 247Sports.
The Wise standout fielded offers from Alabama, Clemson, Boston College, Georgia, LSU, West Virginia, Maryland and others.
Farooq recorded 718 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2019 season where Wise went 15-0 and won the Maryland 4A championship.
Farooq is described by 247Sports’ Brian Dohn as a players that’s “Agile, plays balanced and has stop-start ability. Strong hands. Reliable pass catcher. Comfortable in traffic. Makes yards after catch. Releases well at snap. Tracks ball well. Strong route runner with understanding of spacing.”
Farooq will join Gonzaga star and the nation’s top quarterback, Caleb Williams, in Norman Oklahoma next season.
