Inside The Locker Room has big plans for the future and it needs your help. The site is looking for sports fans, who have a passion for journalism, and wants to get some valuable experience in their career field.

Mission Statement: Inside The Locker Room is a sports blog that focuses on being your source for high school, college and professional sports in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. The blog thrives to cover sports through all aspects of journalism and do it in a professional way.

There are plenty of openings at Inside The Locker Room for anyone that is interested in covering high school, college and professional sports. All positions at Inside The Locker Room are unpaid, but contributing to the site will provide you good work experience for the future. Below are the list of openings.

Site Openings

General High School Reporter: This job requires writers to write about various high school sports (i.e. basketball, football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, etc.) in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The position may require writers to go to high school sporting events such as basketball and football games. Feature and opinion pieces are also welcomed.

Basketball Recruiting Insider/Analyst: this job requires writers to stay up to date with all basketball recruiting news in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Football Recruiting Insider/Analyst: this job requires writers to stay up to date with all basketball recruiting news in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

University of Maryland Athletics beat writer: Writers are required to provide game previews, recaps, opinion pieces, and feature stories based on sports at the University of Maryland.

Georgetown basketball beat writer: Writers are required to provide game previews, recaps, opinion pieces, and feature stories based on Georgetown men’s basketball.

College Basketball columnist: Writers are required to write opinion pieces on college men’s or women’s college basketball.

College Football columnist: Writers are required to write opinion pieces on college football.

NBA Draft writer: Writers will have to stay up to date to the college basketball season, writing scouting reports on players, creating mock drafts, writing opinion pieces and providing coverage about the NBA Draft.

NFL Draft writer: Writers will have to stay up to date to the college basketball season, writing scouting reports on players, creating mock drafts, writing opinion pieces and providing coverage about the NBA Draft.

NBA Summer League writer: Writers are required to provided coverage of NBA Summer League (i.e. game summaries, news updates and opinion pieces).

Washington Mystics beat writer: Writers would be required to write game summaries and opinion pieces related to the Washington Mystics.

D.C. Sports columnist: Writers are required to write opinion pieces that center around D.C. sports teams like the Washington Wizards, Redskins, Capitals and Nationals.
