DC sports fans, it’s time to get on the Wizards bandwagon

It’s has been another dreadful season for the Washington Redskins and I don’t know where to start. The team is 3-11 and is likely to end the season with the same record they had last season, 3-13. The Skins went through three quarterbacks and none of them have been successful. Skins head coach Jay Gruden and the former savior of the city Robert Griffin III can’t get along, what else is new.

There is so much drama and issues’ going on with the Washington Redskins it’s like watching “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” Despite all the drama, D.C. sports fans still focus on the Redskins. It’s crazy how I hear people in the area talk about the Skins constantly or call in to radio stations and rant about how bad the team is.

I always thinking to myself, why do fans even bother focusing their time on the Redskins? The season is over, so why should someone waste their time watching a sad and depressing team. The way sports fans in the DMV talk about the Skins makes someone feel like the only sport in the area is football.

Fans need to stop drowning themselves in the sea of failure, which is the Washington Redskins and hop on the lifeboat of success that is the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards are off to one of the best starts in decades and they are hardly getting credit. The team is one of the top two teams in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-6. They have one of the best home records in the league and point guard John Wall is playing MVP caliber basketball. Not only that, the team as a whole is playing well together. For the first time in a long time the Washington Wizards are playing well and no one is talking about them.

Fans have been dying to see the Wizards be a good team again and now they are, but DC sports fans are hardly giving them any recognition. Fans actually have a successful team standing in their faces, but they still put their focus on the terrible Washington Redskins.

I remember when the Wizards were so bad that there was no reason watching the team on TV. Now they are playing some good basketball and they still don’t get enough attention. I feel like you have to have a losing season and have constant drama in the locker room in order to get the attention of D.C. sports fans.

It’s crazy how fans would waste time complaining about the Redskins, instead of enjoying and praising the early success of the Wizards.

To all D.C. sports fans I will say this, the Redskins season is over and the Wizards are on the rise.
