April 11, 2016

Paul VI 2, Hylton 1- Paul VI’s Jack Cunningham had a decent performance on the mound but finished with a no decision. In five innings the senior pitcher gave up one run, five hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Junior Graeme Wright picked up the win as he pitched two innings of shutout baseball. Junior catcher Michael Morgan had a solid day at the plate. Morgan was 2-4 and recorded two stolen bases. Cunningham went 1-3 and tallied an RBI.

Bishop O’Connell 12, DeMatha 2- DeMatha was down 1-0 during the first two innings but the Knights went on a 10 run outburst in the bottom of the third inning which was the difference maker. Bishop O’Connell’s Will Digiuliam was impressive on the mound and in the batter’s box. Digiuliam recorded three hits and 2 RBI’s. Pitching wise, Will pitched five innings and had four strikeouts. O’Connell’s victory over the Stags extended their winning streak to five games.

Gonzaga 3, Bishop McNamara 2- McNamara out hit Gonzaga 8-5 but left too many runners on base. The Purple Eagles Nate Grisius was 2-3 (single and double) and drove in one run. In the third inning, Gonzaga got on the board thanks to an RBI doubles by Grisius and Brendan Gibson.

April 12, 2016

 Good Counsel 9, DeMatha 4-  Junior outfielder Charlie Kozorosky laced three hits and recorded three RBI’s in the Falcons big win over DeMatha. Senior first baseman Adam Salameh tallied two RBI’s in the victory.

Bishop O’Connell 10, Bishop Ireton 0- The Knights had a big day at the plate to extend their win streak to six games. O’Connell opened the game with a four run lead then tallied three more runs in the second inning. Will Digiuliam had three of the team’s 12 hits and drove in two runs. Ireton bats were silenced in this game as they only recorded two hits.

Paul VI 2, DeMatha 1- Paul VI recorded their 15th win of the season when Jack Cunningham laced a walk-off double in the bottom of the eighth inning.

April 14, 2016

DeMatha 4, Bishop Ireton 2- Bishop Ireton managed to out hit DeMatha 5-4 but leaving six runners left on base really hurt the Cardinals down the stretch. DeMatha senior Joe Hall had a solid outing on the mound. Hall pitched for seven innings, gave up two runs, five hits, three walks and struck out seven batters.

Bishop O’Connell 3, Gonzaga 1- O’Connell’s pitcher Rafi Vazquez pitched for seven innings, gave up one run, two hits and tallied seven strikeouts. Myles Hudzick recorded three hits in the win.

St. John’s 3, Bishop McNamara 0- St. John’s sophomore Jake Steinberg was 1-2 and had an RBI. While, Myles Mensah was 1-3 and recorded an RBI.

April 16, 2016

DeMatha 10, Bishop McNamara 0- The Stags put up five runs on the board in the first three innings to put them out in front earlyDeMatha’s Marcus Brown put together a three hit day at the plate. In the fifth inning, Brown drove in three runs on a double.

Gonzaga 7, Bishop Ireton 3- The Cardinals got out in front early by taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Gonzaga then answered back by scoring seven runs in the next five innings. Eagles Nate Grisius recorded three RBI’s in the win.
