St. Andrew’s junior guard Anthony Duruji announced his commitment to Louisiana Tech on May 17.
“I chose Louisiana Tech because the relationship I developed with them is very unique,” Duruji told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “They’re just genuine people and want me to succeed in life. They liked me as a person first and not just basketball. That was very important to me.”
Duruji is listed a three-star by Scout. He held offers from Monmouth, Old Dominion, Dayton, VCU, St. Joseph’s, Towson, UAB and Chattanooga.
Duruji 14.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He tallied a double-double in 13 games. Duruji scored a season-high 26 points, and collected 10 rebounds against St. Albans on Dec. 18. He is averaging 6.3 points and 3.9 rebounds through 10 games with Team Takeover in the Nike EYBL.
Scout describes Anthony as a player with all around athleticism that can run the floor and is a very good rebounder. Offensively, he can make the jump shot, but it’s not consistent.
