Five-star forward Billy Preston commits to Kansas

Oak Hill Academy’s Billy Preston committed to Kansas over Indiana, Syracuse and USC on Friday.

“Coach [Bill] Self and Coach [Kurtis] Townsend are both great coaches,” Preston explained to “I couldn’t say anything bad about them because they have been recruiting since my 8th grade year. All through adversity, they still stayed with me through the process and the coaches want me to come there and play my game.”

The 6-foot-10 five-star forward is ranked the No. 12 player and the No. 5 power forward in the nation by 247sports. Preston has good athleticism. He can shoot the ball and possesses solid ball handling skills.

Preston averaged 17 points and eight rebounds for Advanced Preparatory International last season.
