ITLR Boy’s Basketball Top 25: No. 2 Jalen Smith

6-foot-8 power forward Jalen Smith is one of the top players in the 2018 class. Smith is rated a five-star by 247sports and ESPN has him a four-star. He is ranked the second best player in Maryland, the No. 10 power forward in the nation and the No. 21 overall player in the country by 247sports.

Smith holds offers from Maryland, Virginia, Villanova, Florida, Providence and more. Smith’s Mount Saint Joseph teammate Darryl Morsell already committed to the Terps.

Over the summer, Smith was invited to try out for the USA U17 team that participated in the FIBA World Championship. He also made an appearance at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp.

Smith averaged 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks per game last season. He tallied 19 points and nine rebounds in the Gaels first win of the season against Indian Creek on Tuesday.
