Georgetown guard LJ Peak is projected to go in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, according to DraftExpress latest mock draft.
DraftExpress has Peak, who was named the Big East Player of the Week on Jan. 16, going 53rd overall to the Brooklyn Nets.
Peak is one of the few bright spots on Georgetown this season as he is averaging 16 points, four rebounds, and three assist per game.
“LJ makes plays when plays need to be made,” Head coach John Thompson III said. “Whether it’s a basket, whether its him a rebound, a deflection or talking on defense and making everyone is where they need to be.”
Peak registered 13 points and six assist in the Hoyas 74-56 loss to Providence on Monday. He had 21 points, seven rebounds, and four dimes in the win over UConn on Jan. 14.
DraftExpress credits Peak’s ability to cover lots of ground on defense and get to the basket on offense. Peak is shooting 45 percent from the floor and 36 percent from the three-point line.
Georgetown will be back in action on Sunday when they go on the road to face Xavier. The Hoyas lost the last game against the Musketeers at the Verizon Center.
