Canadian point guard Jahvon Blair became Georgetown’s first recruit in the Patrick Ewing era when he committed on Friday, according to Adam Zagoria.

Blair took an official visit to Georgetown last week before making his final decision. He also had interest from Georgia Tech, according to 247sports.

Blair is rated a three-star and ranked the No. 2 player in Ontario by 247sports. He averaged 23.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists for Athletic Prep.

Blair will join Washington, D.C. product Antwan Walker, who reaffirmed his commitment to Georgetown after the coaching change. Blair’s commitment gives the Hoyas a quality point guard since four-star Tremont Waters decided to reopen the recruiting process.
