Recruiting for John Carroll guard Montez Mathis is picking up steam just a week into AAU play.

The junior picked up three offers from UConn, Xavier, and South Florida on Monday. Mathis already had offers from West Virginia, Rutgers, St. John’s, Memphis, Virginia Tech, UCF and Minnesota.

Mathis is rated a four-star by ESPN, and ranked the No. 23 shooting guard in the 2018 class. He is coming off a weekend, where he shined for Team BBC at the Adidas Gauntlet Series in Dallas.

Mathis averaged 21.3 points and 4.5 rebounds, while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line.

He played alongside five-star point guard and John Carroll teammate Immanuel Quickley, who averaged 16.5 points per game. Team BBC finished 2-2.
