“I made a visit there and everything just seemed right,” Owusu told ESPN. “Maryland has been recruiting me for a long time and the visit just proved to me that Maryland is where I want to be.”
The 5-foot-9 guard picked the Terrapins over South Carolina, Penn State, Connecticut and West Virginia. Owusu won’t be eligible to sign with Maryland for more than a year.
Owusu has been a key contributor for Paul VI, who is one of the top girls’ basketball teams in the country. She averaged 12.6 points per game during her sophomore season and helped the Panthers reached the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title game where they lost to St. John’s.
