
Paul VI boy’s basketball head coach Glenn Farello was named a finalist for the 2018 Naismith High School Coach of the Year Award on Friday.
Farello, who is coaching in his 11th season at Paul VI, has helped the Panthers to a 25-2 (16-0 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) record. Paul VI are ranked No. 1 in the AllMets Boy’s Basketball Top 20 rankings. USA Today has Paul VI ranked the sixth best team in the country.
Steve Smith (Oak Hill), Kevin Boyle (Montverde Academy), Dough Mitchell (Bishop Montgomery) and Adrian Sosa (University School) rounds out the list of coaches, who were nominated for the award.
Former Nathan Hale head coach Brandon Roy was the 2017 recipient.
