Team Takeover suffers first loss at Peach Jam

Team Takeover's winning streak comes to an end at Peach Jam.

Team Takeover Under 17 team lost its first game of the 2018 Nike EYBL season to Team Florida at Peach Jam on Thursday morning.

Vernon Carey Jr., the nation’s second best recruit, tallied 25 points and eight rebounds to lead Team Florida to a 71-60 victory. Carey holds offers from Duke, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State and others.

Four-star Kyle Sturdivant registered 21 points and five rebounds.

Takeover guard Justin Moore scored 11 points on 4-8 shooting. Armando Bacot notched a double-double, 11 points and 14 rebounds. Center Hunter Dickinson registered 14 points and four rebounds.

Takeover struggled shooting from deep, going 3-18 from the three-point line.

Takeover’s loss came during the group stages, so they still have a chance to reach bracket play. Takeover’s next game against the Oakland Soldiers today at 6 p.m. Oakland Soldiers features Scotty PippenĀ  Jr. and K.J. Martin.
