Team Takeover captures 2018 Peach Jam Title

Team Takeover had seven players to score in double figures in its victory over Team WhyNot in Peach Jam final.

Team Takeover ended its impressive Nike EYBL season by claiming the Peach Jam title over Team WhyNot on Sunday.

Takeover’s junior big man Armando Bacot was named Peach Jam MVP. Bacot tallied 14 points and 14 rebounds in Takeover’s 96-78 victory. Bacot, who is rated a five-star by ESPN, averaged 11.6 points and 12.1 rebounds in eight games at Peach Jam.

Takeover guard Jahmir Young scored a game-high 16 points on 5-5 shooting. Jeremy Roach registered 13 points and center Hunter Dickinson scored 15 points. Takeover had a total of seven players to score in double figures.

Team WhyNot guard Cassius Stanley scored 15 points, while Nimari Burnett added 23 points and six rebounds.

Takeover held a 37-31 lead a halftime. Takeover would go on to score 59 points in the second half to earn the Peach Jam crown.

Takeover would end up finishing the Nike EYBL season with a 23-1 record.
