Three-star Flint Hill RB Jordan Houston commits to Maryland

Local standout picks Maryland over Michigan and Penn State.

Three-star running back Jordan Houston verbally committed to Maryland on Monday. Houston, the Flint Hill High School product, is the Terps’ second commit in two days.

Flint Hill three-star safety Trey Rucker committed to Maryland on July 29.

Houston is ranked the 18th best player in Virginia and the eighth best all-purpose running back in the nation. Houston picked Maryland over offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and others.

Houston is coming off a 2017 season where he was named Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association’s Division I Player of the Year and received first-team All-Met honors from the Washington Post.

Houston tallied 1,971 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on 165 carries. Houston also had 342 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 10 receptions.
